Odd… I have never had any problem with Alarms Pro on my 8830 and I have had every beta OS you can imagine.

I keep getting an error message http error 404 :Not found try loading a different page. But at least I found where you were. I was going to “ABOUT” in the phones Options menu. Thanks to the both of you.

Ok I just downloaded the app. The color changes for the alarms are nice, but quite unnecessary.

Is there any way to download the previous version somewhere?

You can can “update” from the application, just click on “about” and scroll to check updates.

I think one of the greatest things about this app is the ability to use your RINGTONES from your memory card to customize different alarms.
I don’t think the “included alarms” should be an issue.

As far as “Regarding silencing the alarm without unlocking: blame RIM”, there is a work-around (and an excellent one, at that!) for users that use holsters or cases with the built-in magnet. Simply enable the “Silence When Unholstered” option — I have the option enabled for my default for both regular as well as quick alarms. Users on a BES with mandated passwords find all these features…

Hi Nate,

Just to clarify a couple of things:

The main aim with this release was to get out something as quick as possible so those 8330 users and people using early OS 4.5 releases could use the software. The other bits and pieces of functionality were just some quick “tid-bits” that I could put in that would not hold up development time further. To that extent, if you weren’t one of the affected users initially then yes the changes probably do appear a little cosmetic in nature

Regarding silencing the alarm without unlocking: blame RIM. They lock down that functionality to third-party developers despite the fact that their own alarm program can do it. Yes, I have told them they suck.

Waking up the device to sound the alarm is a gray-area. If it is possible, it’s buggy in numerous OS releases, and once again you’ve got RIM to thank for that. I’m working through it though slowly and might be able to get there for the next upgrade.
