Oakie sent in this great article by Marshall Brain of HowStuffWorks the does a great job of explaining Lithium-Ion batteries. Oakie verzonden in dit grote artikel door Marshall Brain van HowStuffWorks het heeft een geweldige job uitleggen Lithium-Ion batterijen. In case you did not know, this is the type of battery that powers your Berry. In geval u niet wist, dit is het type batterij dat de bevoegdheden van uw Berry. I found the description quite interesting and thought I would share. Ik vond de beschrijving heel interessant en dacht dat ik zou delen. Here are some FAQ points I thought were worthy of mention: Hier zijn een aantal punten die ik dacht FAQ's waren van het vermelden waard:

  • BlackBerrybattery They have no memory effect , which means that you do not have to completely discharge them before recharging. Ze hebben geen geheugen effect, wat betekent dat je niet hoeft te ontladen voordat ze volledig opladen.
  • In fact if you completely discharge the battery you are actually ruining it! In feite als je volledig kwijting van de batterij die u eigenlijk verpest het!
  • They start degrading as soon as they leave the factory. They will only last two or three years from the date of manufacture whether you use them or not.   • There is a little computer in the battery which will shut down the battery if it is completely discharged or gets too hot. On a side note Op een zijde nota Alexandre from Blackberry-fr.com (French) Alexandre van BlackBerry-fr.com (Frans) let me know about a bad experience he had with his brand new Bolds battery. laat het me weten over een slechte ervaring had hij met zijn gloednieuwe BOLDS batterij. For some reason his Bold became hot (screen and back) so he took out the battery and  put it back 5 min later. Voor sommige reden zijn spannend werd heet (scherm en terug), zodat hij haalde de batterij terug en zet het 5 minuten later. After an hour it was completely dead and will no longer take a charge. Na een uur was het helemaal dood en zal niet langer een last. I really hope this does not happen to my future Bold. Ik hoop echt dat dit niet gebeurt er met mijn toekomst Bold.

    Yea doesnt the highspeed internet heat up the phone sometimes if you leave it on, well its not like you have an option to disable highspeed and just leave it at 2G. Ja doesnt de snelle Internet opwarmen van de telefoon soms als je laat op, en haar niet als u een optie uit te schakelen en highspeed gewoon verlaten 2G.

    Now i know why my BB shut down for a day after I took it to the beach. Nu weet ik waarom mijn BB stilgelegd voor een dag nadat ik het had naar het strand. I thought it died and was miraculously resurrected. Ik dacht dat het stierf en werd wonderbaarlijk herrezen.

    20% per month? 20% per maand? After 1 month, it's at 80% of max capacity. Na 1 maand, is het bij 80% van de max. capaciteit. After 2, it's 64%. Na 2, het is 64%. After 3, it's 51%. Na 3, it's 51%.

    That's right… with those batteries, you'd get but half the life after a mere 3 months. That's right ... met die batterijen, had je maar de helft van het leven na slechts 3 maanden. Takes a bit more than a year to be totally dead. Neemt een beetje meer dan een jaar helemaal dood zijn. Can anyone say “iPod battery”? Kan iemand zeggen 'iPod-batterij "?

    Yeah I found it to be a mind opening read. Ja, ik vond het een open geest te lezen. Now I understand why Apple does not allow for user replaceable batteries. Nu begrijp ik waarom Apple niet mogelijk voor de gebruiker vervangbare batterijen. Its a cash cow… Het is een melkkoe ...
