8350i Nextel iDen Curve Scheduled For Q4 Release

BoyGenius has scored some of Nextel’s upcoming lineup for 2008. Inside the coverage was some great information and screencandy on the 8350i Nextel iDen Curve. I am sure many Nextel fans will love appreciate the fact that RIM packed this 2 year old device with a nice software overhaul (OS 4.6) and a ton of features. Luckily they managed to remove the fugly stubby antenna that it had in the screencandy from BBNews.

sprintblackberry8350i In the upcoming 8350i you will find:

  1. its possible that all current bb devices can support 4.6 then?

    Whats iden btw

  2. I was wondering the same thing!! If the 8350i which is an 8XXX device can run OS 4.6, then maybe OS 4.6 is not meant only for 9XXX devices and higher, but could be compatible with all 8XXX devices. Wouldn’t that be cool? However I doubt RIM will put 4.6 builds out there for all of us 8XXX users. They what us to get a Bold or Javelin or Thunder.

  3. Release date for the New Blackberry Curve 8350i will be released 12/01/09.It will be $149.99 after a $100.00 mail in rebate. I will be able to get additional discounts on the device. You can contact me at [email protected]. Our company has locations in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. We provide sales, service and support for the 5 major cellualr provider. I will be taking pre orders as of 11/2. Take advantage now. They are already have a high demand.

  4. It's really nice that you decide to go against what the company wants and publish the release date…..cause you know it is supposed to be confidential…..oh and that isn't the release date……

  5. Oh and iDEN is a NETWORK and it includes more than Walkie Talkie…..because when it was just Nextel they provided Cellular service as well….

  6. Just talked to Sprint and they say it will be the end of Dec. now. I don't think i will wait that long, I think they are stringing us along so we don't leave.

  7. Pros:
Very nice high quality design. Crisp, sharp, and bright screen. Very nice icons and layout. Great call quality and clearity.

    Cons:
Wi-fi did not work in many areas. Even when it did, the phone would not play streaming videos. Sprint nor Blackberry could help me get the internet feature working, so my phone would only go to Wi-fi, with no other browser available. This phone does not come with Sprint TV or the Music Store, so you cannot get the free NFL Mobile Live. It attracts lots of smuges and finger prints on the screen and on the back of the phone.

    Summary:
In all, they did a great job as far as giving the phone a high quality design. They should have made this phone Sprint TV enabled and gave it access to the Music Store as well like they did for the Renegade by Motorola. Like I said, you cannot get the free NFL Live access either. What a bomber!!!

  8. I have the Nextel 8350i, and it is by far the BEST nextel out there. I have had the 8330 Curver from sprint and hands down the 8350i is the last phone i will ever need to buy!!!!! call me if you need to know anything about it at (704) 902-5825 or text!!!!!!!!!!!!
