Thomas let me know that Tiggit is out of beta. It is essentially a IMAP. POP3, & SMTP client for your BlackBerry. The cool part is that it supports IMAP idle which gives you almost push email for many email accounts. Tiggit is a separate email client from the native BlackBerry client. Its a great way to check personal emails from a work BlackBerry or to check accounts that you don’t need pushed to your BlackBerry.
Tiggit is competing with the free LogicMail but it does have the added benefit of IMAP idle push email. Its also pretty cool since it keeps each of your inboxes separate so you can easily switch between email accounts. I know people will also be interested to know that the application works with a plain generic data plan. That means you can use it to check your email without paying for a regular BlackBerry data plan. Personally I don’t see this trumping the free LogicMail unless you really need push through IMAP idle.
Check it out at www.tiggit.com. There is a 7 day free trial available after which the license costs $30 with a $15 dollar charge if you change devices.

Wow, why can’t RIM implement Gmail IMAP idle ON THEIR OWN? I find it ironic that 3rd party software has defeated RIM in what they supposedly do best: email. Kudos to Tiggit for successing in what RIM couldn’t do right.

In theory, this is a very good product.
In practice, “Getting folder list” never finished (only INBOX was enabled), and IMAP IDLE did not work.
Oh well.
