Good-Bye KickStart! Hello Pearl 8220
Well so much for the short-lived KickStart, right when this name was starting to grow on me, I came across this post on Cell Phone Signal. Basically it says that according to “internal documentation from BlackBerry,the new Blackberry Kickstart will be called Blackberry Pearl 8220″ This is more accurate in a way because there are very few differences between the two devices, other than of course the clamshell design.
This seems to be confirmed by the information that BlackBerryCool got on Rogers release. This is definitely going to cause some confusion…
At least it looks like the BlackBerry 9000 will keep its “Bold” nickname!

I think “Kickstart” is a really good name
