July 28th, 2008 by Ronen Halevy
Juan just let me know that Orange Romania released OS 4.5.0.52 for their line of BlackBerrys including the 8700. This is the first OS 4.5 OFFICIAL release that I have seen for the 8700. The newer 8000 GSM series devices have been getting all the love. Nice find Juan!
Orange Romania also released OS 4.5.0.52 for their 8100, 8120, 8320, 8800, & 8820 devices if you were looking for it.

So is there any word on Verizon release or am I able to use this to upgrade my 8130?
Is this safe to use on my tmobile 8320?
This OS works fine on my Swiss Orange 8700v.
It now does html-emails properly and has the OTA update integrated.. the future’s bright
Will this be OK on a o2 UK 8700G?

Holy smokes. Talk about major culture shock going from 4.1.0.309 to 4.5.0.52!
Oh, and Rach, no you can’t use this on your Verizon 8130. The releases on the linked web site are for GSM devices used in Europe. While they SHOULD work fine on USA GSM devices (8120, 8320, 8820), no way they will work on any CDMA device (8×3x).

anyone do the upgrade of an 8700c and lose the blackberry browser? I resent the servicebooks and did a battery pull. No luck.
Will this work on an AT&T 8700?
