Gmail No Longer Auto Adds Contacts - Finally!
You ever notice in Gmail that when you emailed a person a few times in Gmail they suddenly showed up in your address book? You’re not the only one. People have been complaining about it for awhile now and Google has answered.
According to Google System the new Gmail contacts manager that is being rolled out no longer auto adds contacts. There will now be two sections in your contacts. One will be titled contacts and the other will be suggested contacts. The suggested contacts will be similar to the ones Gmail used to auto add.
I am glad Gmail has caught on to this gripe. If you actually liked the auto add feature there is sadly no way to enable it anymore. Guess you can’t have your cake and eat it…
Thanks Peter for pointing this out!

This one “feature” alone was what kept me from ever trying Gmail. I might have to take a look at it now.
