Kathy just let me know that RIM has released an update to their native Yahoo Messenger bringing it to version 2.1.33. This is similar to their Google Talk update last week.
Once again no changelogs so we have no idea what changed.
Let us know if you find anything new.
You can pick up the download from:

There’s actually a lot of differences, now that I look at it. The fonts are a little different from the previous version. There’s a circle next to everything now. The shortcut icon on the homescreen has more color and is more vivid and bright.I think buddy icons are smaller too. I’m probably not even saying any of this correctly
it is 3am after all.

The new update has a new icon interface…Looks more like the Vista yahoo icon. And the actual yahoo messenger list has a graphical improvement. Looks more user friendly.

Well no love here. I’m on AT&T with an original issue Cingular 8800 running v4.2.1.108, and I still can’t log in!
I’ve tried uninstalling, reinstalling, sending service books, but I still do NOT get the service books, and when I try to log in, I get the error message “Service not enabled for this handheld”.
Grrrrr…….

Ok.. Every time I try and download yahoo messenger and I try too sign in…All I get is my Handset is NOT Supported? So what’s the Deal? I installed and currently am Running OS V4.5.0.52 on my phone and Not sure if I have BIS 2.3 i think is the latest but the only time it Actually works is when I use it in the little Messenger bundle that comes the blackberry. So what and HOW do I check too make sure that I am not missing anything that MIGHT not allow me too use this App?

Just checked with ATT customer service and was told its not compatible with their phones. You can only use the OZ Messenger downloaded from Media Net.
Weird tho but when i downloaded the MSN Live Messenger from mobile.blackberry.com…it worked!!! Makes me wonder how yahoo is unable to work as well when i downloaded from same site and without problems…weird weird weird ATT!

There isn’t a noticeable difference in this version and the previous version. I’m pretty bummed out about that. If anyone knows of a better version between 2.3 and 9.0, please email or instant message me to let me know.
