xPlayer 1.1 Beta - Now With Internet Radio
July 9th, 2008 by Ronen Halevy
I was just reading a post on BlackBerryForums by SHAPE about a new beta they have for their xPlayer application. xPlayer used to be free but I don’t think it is anymore.
The new beta includes:
Internet radio support:
- All data plans supported
- Wi-Fi in OS 4.2. and 4.3 is supported
- Full radio stations management
- Pre-loaded stations
- Create or remove a station
- Forward/Rewind feature is now available
- Recent list integrated:
- Files
- Folders
- Playlists
- User Interface improved:
- Navigation
- Shortcuts
You can download the beta version at this link or over-the-air at this link. Keep in mind it is a Beta so expect a few hickups. Users are already reporting some issues on the forums.
SHAPE asks that you send your feedback to bb-beta@shapeservices.com or through the application by forwarding support requests with application logs from xPlayer -> Menu -> Support & About.
Let us know what you think!

When i plugged my headphones the music worked fine. But when it skipped to the next song, the music played through the speaker phone.

Everything works fine, but its really hard to find new radio stations, they should include a search engine for new web radio stations

I had the same problem as abdeoul21. I had to jiggle around the connection point before the sound returned to the headphones. This happened whenever a new track started. Every. Single. Time.
Needless to say, but I will anyway :p, I removed the app. No thanks.
