Turns out that the phone has a CDMA radio with EVDO Rev A! Blijkt dat de telefoon heeft een radio met CDMA EVDO Rev A! (Come on RIM) It also includes a Quadband GSM radio so it will even let you stick in an AT&T sim card as BGR tried. (Come on RIM) Het bevat ook een Quadband GSM-radio zodat het zelfs laten je stick in een AT & T SIM-kaart als BGR geprobeerd.

8830napoleon It adds some interesting stuff on top of the 8830 such as a fingerprint scanner, WiFi, stereo speakers, and the previously mentioned Rev A. If this were not plagued with Windows Mobile 6.1 I would say the 8830 Worldphone is in for some competition. Het voegt enkele interessante dingen op de top van de 8830, zoals een vingerafdrukscanner, WiFi, stereo-luidsprekers en de eerder genoemde Rev A. Als deze niet werden geplaagd met Windows Mobile 6.1 zou ik zeggen dat de 8830 Worldphone is voor enige concurrentie.

    Thought I read somewhere (BGR?) that the Thunder is supposed to have “EV-DO Rev C”. Dacht dat ik ergens gelezen (BGR?) Dat de Thunder wordt verondersteld te hebben "EV-DO Rev C". And that “no carrier supports that yet”? En dat "geen enkele vervoerder ondersteunt dat nog"?

    Ah well, RIM has never been known for being up to date with the latest gadgetry in their devices. Ach, heeft RIM nooit bekend voor zijn up to date met de nieuwste gadgets in hun apparaten. I guess that's either good or bad, depending on if you're a “glass half full” or “glass half empty” type of person… Ik denk dat zowel goed is of slecht, afhankelijk van als je een "glas halfvol" of "glas half leeg" type persoon ...

    Rev A is the current standard with BB devices supporting Rev 0 which has more latency and slower uploads. Rev A is de huidige standaard met BB-apparaten ondersteunen Rev 0 die meer latency en trager upload heeft. Rev B brings 75Mbps speeds and Rev C brings 280Mbps speeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rev B brengt 75Mbps snelheden en Rev C brengt 280Mbps snelheid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    At this rate, Im thinking about changing to Verizon. In dit tempo, Im het denken over het veranderen van Verizon.

    Yeah Ronen, I've seen the EV-DO roadmap. Ja Ronen, heb ik gezien de EV-DO routekaart. BUT i've seen no indication that either Verizon or Sprint (the biggest North America CDMA carriers) intend to go to anything beyond EV-DO Rev A? Maar ik heb gezien geen aanwijzing dat een Verizon of Sprint (de grootste Noord-Amerika CDMA dragers) van plan te gaan om iets buiten EV-DO Rev A? Verizon has said they are going to LTE (GSM's version of 4G) and Sprint is entrenched in the WiMax camp. Verizon heeft gezegd dat ze gaan LTE-versie (GSM's van 4G) en Sprint is verankerd in de WiMax kamp. I don't follow Canada much so not sure what Bell or Telus have planned for beyond Rev A, or what IUSACELL has planned for Mexico. Ik volg geen Canada veel dus niet zeker wat Bell of Telus hebben gepland voor na Rev A, of wat IUSACELL heeft gepland voor Mexico.

There are already rumors about a Motorola Alexander, which should bring a wide touchscreen display and a killer-camera of 8 Megapixels. Er zijn al geruchten over een Motorola Alexander, die moet leiden tot een breed touchscreen display en een killer-camera van 8 Megapixels. I wonder what's next: a “Moto Louis XIV”, a “Moto Hammurabi”? Ik vraag me af wat's next: een "Moto Louis XIV", een "Moto Hammurabi"? Well, the history books are filled with names of ex-kings, so Motorola won't run out of inspiration in case it goes this way with its naming strategy. Welnu, de geschiedenis boeken vol met namen van ex-koningen, zodat Motorola niet uitgeput van inspiratie voor het geval het gaat op deze manier met haar naamgeving strategie.
