I actually saw a demo of this at the Sprint corporate offices a few months back and it was beautiful. Ik zag eigenlijk een demo van dit op de Sprint kantoren een paar maanden terug en het was mooi. The Airave is essentially a mini cellphone tower that routes all of your calls over the internet. De Airave is in wezen een mini-mobiel toren die routes al uw gesprekken via het internet. Kind of like UMA but without the WiFi part. Kind van soortgelijke UMA maar zonder het WiFi-gedeelte.

Airave2 This would save you money on calls and give you reception in locations where you might not have. Dit bespaart u geld op gesprekken en geven u receptie in locaties waar je niet zou kunnen hebben. While I was at Sprints corporate offices I asked them if I could use the Airave while traveling.     OR you can use tmo's service for $10 bucks a month and get unlimited UMA calling, without the gps/only being able to use it in a tmo coverage area clause. Of u kunt gebruiken dienst TMO's voor $ 10 dollar per maand en ontvang UMA onbeperkt bellen, zonder dat de gps / alleen te kunnen gebruiken in een TMO dekkingsgebied clausule. And its $10 for an individual or your whole family plan… Sprint's version sounds like an over priced rip off of tmos talk forever mobile. En zijn $ 10 voor een individu of uw hele gezin plan ... versie van Sprint klinkt als een over priced rip off van TMOS praten altijd mobiel.

    This is a femtocell, a similar concept to UMA but not really. Dit is een femtocell, een vergelijkbaar concept om UMA maar niet echt.

    Sprint has been trialing these in a couple places USA for several months now. Sprint is trialing deze in een paar plaatsen Verenigde Staten nu voor enkele maanden. I think it's a really cool concept, install your own mini cell phone site, but an issue that come to MY mind is would there be any personal liability if someone did something illegal on their device while connected via your femtocell (which is connected to the world via your high speed internet service)??? Ik vind het een echt cool concept, installeert u uw eigen mini-mobiele telefoon site, maar een kwestie die komen naar mijn idee is zou er geen persoonlijke aansprakelijkheid als iemand deed iets illegaal op hun apparaat terwijl u verbonden via uw femtocell (die is aangesloten op de wereld via uw high speed internet service)??? And with companies like Cox and Comcast looking to throttle our cable modem services, someone connecting to your femtocell could use up a bunch of cable modem bandwidth that not only do you have to pay Sprint for the femto but you have to pay your ISP for the data backhaul, and I can't see that the cable companies would be all too excited about bunches of cellular femtocells using their backbones for phone call carriage (when they are trying to market that themselves!). En met bedrijven zoals Comcast en Cox op zoek naar onze kabelmodem diensten, iemand een verbinding met je femtocell gasklep zou kunnen gebruiken om een stelletje kabelmodem bandbreedte die niet alleen moet je betalen voor de Sprint femto maar u moet uw provider betalen voor de backhaul-gegevens, en ik kan niet zien dat de kabel bedrijven zouden worden maar al te enthousiast over trossen van cellulaire femtocells het gebruik van hun backbones voor bellen vervoer (wanneer zij proberen om de markt dat zelf!).

    Yeah it is way too expensive! Ja, het is veel te duur! I just thought it would be cool to be able to setup your own celltower site… Ik dacht dat het zou leuk zijn om te kunnen opzetten van je eigen site ... celltower :)

    But can you get it without paying the monthly fee? Maar kan je het krijgen zonder het betalen van de maandelijkse vergoeding? I need it because I get crap coverage in my apartment, but since I have the SE plan I don't need unlimited calling. Ik heb het nodig omdat ik stront dekking te krijgen in mijn appartement, maar sinds ik heb de SE plan Ik hoef niet onbeperkt bellen.

    Also I don't thing the cable companies have much to worry about. Ook ik niet wat de kabelmaatschappijen hebben veel zorgen te maken. Voice calls take up very little bandwidth. Spraakoproepen nemen weinig bandbreedte.
