I got spam on my BB email address, even though I never posted it anywhere. Spammers started getting clever and were able to guess addresses. My solution (which has worked for the past 2 years) is to make your BB email address totally random, and always have a 3rd party forward to that address. So I'm saef48.as__f4@tmo.blackberry.net, but since I never give out that address anyways, who cares what it is.
