Reminder: Americas BIS Upgrade/Outage Early Morning - 28th & 29th

Just as a reminder since I love to repeat myself. RIM is scheduled to be doing their BIS 2.5 upgrade tonight and tomorrow. The installation will happen on the 28th and the activation on the 29th.

The times will be from 00:00 EDT to 08:00 EDT on June 28th and a 30 minute outage sometime between 02:00 – 06:00 EDT on the 29th. (Just in case you don’t know EDT is Eastern Daylight Saving time or GMT -4 hours)

Expect some BIS outages during that time. BES users should not be effected.

I know it is only the morning of the 28th but as of today some of my homescreen icons from the OS are different. Any folder icon has an envolpe, and a thin black box outlines which ever icon is selected.

Those irregularities have nothing to do wth what RIM is doing as their work is server side.

To answer the question: you won’t be able to log into the RIM site to add/remove/change email addresses, resend service books, etc. and mail delivery will be held until it is over.
