BerryAnnoying – Get Rid Of The Camera Snapshot Sound
Josep sent me a link to this app and then I read about it from Kevin. I guess the camera sound is really pissing people off and resonating all around. Turns out that you have to pay $3.95 for the pleasure of silencing the picture sound on your BlackBerry.
RIM should have given us this option in the first place but I am not surprised. Maybe RIM hoped to justify the camera to businesses/government by saying that it would make a loud noise if somebody was trying to take pictures unnoticed. Or maybe RIM wanted to catch the people taking blurry camera phone shots of their confidential powerpoint slides.
In short you can stick it to RIM by silencing your camera for $3.95 at the BerryReview store. They also released another app called AutoStandby that surprisingly puts your phone in standby automatically. Personally I would just recommend getting a holster with a magnet.
