Another Americas Outage July 5th… Early Morning
June 27th, 2008 by Ronen Halevy
Seriously its like we get an outage or two a week. I feel bad for technicians on call 24/7. Can’t RIM build their network infrastructure to reroute traffic to another datacenter?
Thanks to Raffy for sending this one in. Joe Sanders just posted on www.dataoutages.com that there will be another outage on July 5th from 2AM to 6AM EDT. Seems like they will be doing a critical software upgrade.
So if you are on call 24/7, mark your calendars.

That is likely why RIM picked 2am after July 4th! Smart Canadians!

One would HOPE these almost weekly “upgrades” of late are to ADD some system redundancy that this year’s unplanned outages have shown are needed! Well, and BIS upgrades too we hope.
