I noticed this to the other day when installing .44, after installing it i googled for information about it. when i found out what it did i just moved the folder to my desktop, and fired up Desktop Manager it noticed the files where gone and prompted me asking if i wished to remove them which I did.

My suggestion is to just remove the folder quincy and the celldata files are in(sorry I do not remember the exact name, “Debug Tools” or something like that) before installing the OS.

Now that we know what quincy is can someone please explain what celldata is? Its a new app on the 8310 version of the .44 release but I have no idea what it does. Plus you can choose to install or remove it on DM. Anyone out there have an idea?

The descritpion says “a cell coverage tracking tool” and the module is net_rim_bb_celldata

Is it true If quincy will Report to RIM and RIM will kill remotely to PIN Number who use BETA OS but not BETA TESTER member that chosen by RIM ?
I’ve got this application on my OS BETA 4.5. But I’ve already remove this after heard that issue…I really wondering with this one.
