Latest BlackBerry OS 4.5.0.44 Found Online for 8310 & 8320

UPDATE: Sorry for the confusion it is only available currently for the 8300, 8310, & 8320.

UPDATE 2: Some people are reporting issues with this OS on their 8320 devices with T-Mobile

I love the internet! Thanks to Randy & Robbie for both sending this in!

R.P has just posted links to one of the latest BlackBerry OS versions on his website blackberryfree.blogspot.com.

You can find the download links for OS 4.5.0.44 at this link for the BlackBerry 8300, 8310, & 8320.

Don’t forget to delete the vendor.alx file at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader\

Thanks R.P.

What happens if I don’t delete vendor.alx before upgrading my 8320? Can anyone inform me what the changes are between 4.5.0.42 and 4.5.0.44 for an 8320? I got x.42 working perfectly, and am afraid of scewing everything up for for just two build numbers higher?

I’d like to know what the changes are as well. I am satisfied with .42 and if its nothing major I’ll just use what I have.

Warning: I tried to upgrade my 8320 from 4.5.0.42 to this version (4.5.0.44) and Desktop Manager told me there was a fatal error during the upgrade. This did not happen during my upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.5.0.42. No idea what caused it.

UPDATE: Even though I received the error I mentioned, upon a reboot of my Laptop and of my BlackBerry, I tried again to update to 4.5.0.44, and worked without a problem.

Can I upgrade if I’m on T-Mobile’s BB data plan (meaning I have emails pushed to my 8320 as well as internet access). Do I have to wait for T-Mobile to release the 4.5 upgrade?

Just downloaded and installed last night- went from 4.2 to this version. One database could not be transferred, and now some of my 3rd party apps are no longer registered.

Other than that, no problems or complaints.
