Airport Alerts By Email - Someone Should Consolidate Them
I was just reading an article on USAtoday about how people are starting to subscribe to free airport alerts. These alerts range from the regular flight delays to letting you know the security line status at your terminal. Imagine if when you bought a ticket you could subscribe to get text message alerts every hour for the 3 hours before the flight. These messages would tell you how long the security line is and if there is parking available and even better how long the lines are for the check in counters. Even if they did not have the exact number right then they could at least sent the historical average for such a time and day of the week. Another nice thing to know would be to get an email with the baggage carousel number.
This would be a perfect addition to WorldMateLive’s service. While I am not sure if such information is provided by the carriers it would definitely be useful. From the USA today article you can see that some airports are already providing quite a bit of information so this may be an upcoming trend. It would also consolidate well with the Delta digital cellphone tickets IntoMobile mentioned yesterday.
