3Jam Private Beta - Group Text Messaging Client For BlackBerry

While catching up on TechCrunch I read about this new beta of 3Jam’s SuperText. This service supposedly reroutes your text messages to your computer when you are in front of it. That way you don’t have to pay your carrier. Seems like an interesting idea. People who get your text don’t see any different number when you send from your PC. I am dying to know how this works… You can sign up at this link: beta.3jam.com.

3jamWhile reading about a private beta of this 3Jam service I found out they have a non beta version. It seems like the current 3Jam service lets you have conversations through text messages with your friends. They even have a BlackBerry client application that you can find at this link. The application seems to be designed for the 7100/7200/8700 generation BlackBerrys but may work.

I am still confused as to if this is a free service. TechCrunch says its free but I see no mention on their main website though the beta website says free. Today is a crazy day so I did not have a chance to try this myself but if you do please let me know how it goes. Screenshots would be nice…
