Pilot.mobi - Add Directions To Your Mobile Website

PilotmobilemapThis is a pretty cool free service that helps you put mobile maps on your BlackBerry for quite a few countries. The service is not automated since you need to email the company for them to set it up but they claim it is a free service. On the other hand you know the saying “there is no such thing as a free lunch…”

You can also use it to map your location but I think Google mobile works better for that.

Just thought it would be worth mentioning since I have not seen a good way to integrate a map into a mobile website so far. Hopefully such solutions will be coming soon.

If you interested check out more info at www.pilot.mobi.

In all fairness I think everyone should know the facts about Pilot.mobi .
I use it on some of my mobile websites & it’s unique features make it more desireable than Google for mobile directions.
but it does do some things that google doesn’t.
Firstly, there are no downloads and no use of javascript, which makes it useable on all cell phones.
Secondy, they customize their maps/directions for others to use on their sites and google doesn’t.

Hope this clears some things up.

    Best Regards..

    Anthony,
    Thanks for the clarification.
Personally I had never seen such a service before. It would be very useful for shop and restaurant owners.
