Eric Carr Of Loopt Explains GPS & Location Technologies
Personally I have been confused for quite awhile now. All I have been hearing is LBS is the future, A-GPS will tell you where you are, Cell Tower ID is awesome… You get the picture. Honestly I had only a vague idea what any of these meant until I read this great article David B pointed out to me on TechCrunch.
Eric Carr of Loopt does an amazing job of breaking down the top 5 prevailing location technologies and what they are good for. I think this is one of the best guides I have read about the subject to bring you up to speed on the latest and the greatest. It also lets you know the limitations of each.
So now I know exactly what the “assisted” in A-GPS means… Do you?
