Verizon & Alltel Talking Deals Again

There have been rumblings about this for quite awhile now but it seems like things are getting closer to a decision. Darren Murph of Engadget is reporting that Verizon is once again in talks with Alltel to broker a deal. The latest update originates from CNBC.


I don’t understand much of the background but to me this means that Chad the Alltel guys is about to get owned by the Verizon guy. 
This would probably also solidify Verizon as THE largest wireless carrier.

I think thats what some companies come around for, just to be bought over. I don’t like competition :-P, although I have T-mobile.

So does that mean they will crop-out the red shirted Verizon guy from the Alltel commercials? Will we see the “Wizard” in Verizon commercials?
