BlinkWhileCall - The One Trick Horse BlackBerry Application
The developer, Fabian, has been on a crusade to add small little features to the BlackBerry OS. His latest creation is called BlinkWhileCall and does one simple thing. It makes your BlackBerry LED blink Purple when you are getting a call and it is on silent. This way you can visually see the difference between a call and a email. All for $2.00.
I have never run into this problem myself but I thought it was worth mentioning. I personally just set phone calls to vibrate 3 times and emails only vibrate once. I think this would be a great free app…
From the description:
Everyone knows the problem: You don’t want the phone to ring but still want to know when someone is calling. The internal red-LED-notification is to dark and you don’t know if it’s a mail, SMS or call…
Here is a solution !
The small application BlinkWhileCall blinks fast with the bright purple LED when you receive a call. If you set the device to silent, you can still get notified!
Features:
- Not expensive
- Easy to use
- Get notified even when on silent

So, who has tried it? I can’t imagine seeing a purple flash from my Berry, but might be cool when in a meeting to know immediately if the vibrate is for a phone call versus something else.

It doesn’t blink purple the whole call, just for a bit at first and it blinks really fast. The color is pretty, would be a great free app/

I guess I should have clarified. I wonder if anyone has this running on an 88xx device? So much of the “cool” stuff only works on 81xx and 83xx devices. The store says 8800 and 8820 and 8830 are supported, but I was interested in any feedback from someone who has one of those before I plonk down $2. If not, I guess I can be the guinea pig

I downloaded this and don’t like it. But, can’t delete it or turn it off? How does on delete it? It doesn’t show up under applications or in the Blackberry desktop manager ???
