Loopt - Another Free Social Networking Tool For BlackBerry Loopt - ein weiteres freies Social Networking-Tool für BlackBerry
I just got an email from Loopt that they have released a BlackBerry client for their social network. Ich bekam eine E-Mail von Loopt dass sie über einen Blackberry-Client für ihr soziales Netz. Personally I have no clue what Loopt does that Facebook does not but I am not much of a social networking buff. Persönlich habe ich keine Ahnung, für was Loopt Facebook geht das nicht, aber ich bin mir nicht viel von einer sozialen Vernetzung buff.
So far the application seems to only be available for Sprint BlackBerry devices but supposedly Verizon BlackBerry support is coming soon. Bisher ist die Anwendung scheint nur zur Verfügung, Sprint für BlackBerry-Geräte, aber angeblich Verizon BlackBerry-Unterstützung wird in Kürze zur Verfügung. I am not sure why they would want to lock the network to only Verizon and Sprint but I guess that is their prerogative. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, warum sie möchte das Netzwerk-Sperre nur auf Verizon und Sprint aber ich schätze, das ist ihr Vorrecht.
I did find that the registration link lets you choose to be from all of the different wireless carriers so maybe it works on other carriers? Loopt is a location-based mobile social mapping service. Loopt ist ein Standort-basierten mobilen sozialen Mapping Dienst. It’s different from Facebook in that it offers real-time location information about your friends who also use Loopt. Es unterscheidet sich von Facebook, als er bietet Echtzeit-Informationen über den Standort über Ihre Freunde, auch Loopt. We’ve developed a Facebook application (as you’ve shown here) so that when you update using Loopt from your mobile device, the change will get reflected on Facebook. Wir haben eine Facebook-Anwendung (wie Sie haben hier gezeigt), so dass beim nächsten Update mit Loopt von Ihrem mobilen Gerät, wird dies spiegelt sich in Facebook.
Wrt general device coverage, Loopt is already available on many Sprint/Nextel and Boost devices, and will be on Verizon very soon as well.
