Opera_mini_4_1released

The Opera Mini Beta version 4.1 has finally been officially released. Just found out from a post by James @ CrackBerryThe official version has over 150 bug fixes from the beta so its worth upgrading.

From the announcement on the Opera Mini Blog:

Among other things they’ve have adjusted is how the “Save Page” function works and also made it possible for BlackBerry users to surf with Wi-Fi. Also, the person that reported “Find in page does not work in Bookmarks page”: Well, we fixed that one as well.

Opera Mini enables you to take your full Web experience to your phone. Stay in touch with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, get your e-mail on the go, do your online banking. There are no limits — Opera Mini is the quick, easy and secure way to get any Web page you want.

With Opera Mini 4.1 we would like to introduce the following new features:

  • Opera Mini 4.1 is up to 50% faster than Opera Mini 4.0
  • Automatically suggest URL completions, making address input easy and intuitive
  • Web pages can be saved for later off-line viewing
  • Opera Mini 4.1 gives you quick access to the word or phrase you want in Web pages
  • Images, ringtones and other content can be downloaded without leaving Opera Mini.

To download the full release head on over to www.operamini.com from either your desktop or your Berry.

  1. Save page function didn’t included in final. Tested on 8700, OS 4.2.1.

  2. Again I have to pipe in to say WHY o why don’t they make Opera work without a separate APN and just use the BIS connection?
Not all carriers provide this for free, and configuring the APN is probably one of their biggest tech support issues.

I guess I’m stuck with the regular browser… again.

    Ok, I vented.

  3. You can count on Luc yelling at them about it. I also dont get it. They work hard to support WiFi browsing on the berry but not BIS?

  4. I officially tested this for about 10 min and then un-installed it. Its a mem hog and doesn’t have enough keypad shortcuts like the bb browser does. BBB FTW!

  5. No, don’t count on me for that. I’ve given up. I don’t hate the BB Browser after all. It could be better, but I like it.

  6. I can’t download frm operas site… Wtf everytime I go through the steps it just gives me a zip file with I’m trying to do this ota. Does anyone know how to bypass tha or if there’s another way to get it cause http://www.mini.opera.com/ is now working for me

  7. i have to download opera mini for internet surfing
