Garmin Offers $99.99 GPS Navigation Plan For Your BlackBerry

GarminforBlackBerryGarmin is trying to trump TeleNav by offering a $99.99 GPS navigation plan for the life of your BlackBerry. This plan is not transferable to another BlackBerry device but is good for the life of your BlackBerry. It might just be better than paying a $10 a month subscription plan.

If you don’t have GPS on your phone they offer a GPS puck with the plan for $149.99. I am not sure about the quality of the Garmin GPS offering but it looks good. I might just have to try it. I just cant seem to locate a link for a free trial…

    You can go to http://www.handmark.com and sign up for a month to month to try Garmin. But I personally tried all of them so far. Top 3 are Telenav, Mapquest Navigator, and Garmin. The rest don’t work well. And I have not tried Copilot yet.
    Telenav and Mapquest are the only 2 that give correct routings. Garmin sends me on a while goosechase and I don’t leave in the boonies. Wash DC metro area. Also, Garmin’s interface is not as user friendly as the other 2.

    This would be great if it could be used on a Verizon device internal GPS chip. I guess paying the $150 one time versus $10/month for VZNavigator is a balance one would have to consider.

    So, this means that all of the routing and points of interest stuff is on the device… i.e, there is no data being sent or received?

    I wish James. Only the application is stored on the device. All information is stored on their servers
