Maufait for those of you who have never used it provides a BlackBerry shortcut to their FREE online content for your area, such as Weather, News, Stocks, Movies playing, Flights, and more. I’ve just learned they’ve released a new version to fix some existing issues (faster), and the home screen shortcut has been redone and renamed to: MaufaitInstaFind. The name InstaFind was previously only found in Maufait itself.

Using it over several months I have relied on it heavily to track flight information (free rather than paying for World Mate Live). For long trips I use TripIt (also FREE) to save my itinerary, and use Maufait to track my flight times. It will also save your recent flights so when there are multiple legs on your trip, you only need to enter it once and just choose again later from your list for an update.

Also very useful for finding local Movie times and locations. Select the movie and based on your location provided it brings up the closest theaters and showtimes.

While only a web link and not a true app, Maufait is very useful and easy to use, offering quick access to local Weather, Directions, 411, dining, lotteries, and much more. Also includes Stock info your own saved Portfolio.

You can also personalize Maufait to start on the section you prefer, which News sections to show, and provide Feedback to their team. From personal experience they respond quickly.

A source close to Maufait development also informs me that new features are on the way. They have added maps to 411 searches, and coming soon Maufait will be a whole service client utilizing GPS, plus live stock quotes and dynamic services updates. This will keep you always updated without redownloading a new Maufait for every future service enhancement.
