Preview: Viigo Project Tango Prerelease Screenshots

Viigo has been dangling the juicy Project Tango release and they finally let us release some screenshots. This is not a review since this is just a pre release version for attendees of WES. As you can see many of the features are grayed out but it is obvious that Viigo has really been burning the midnight oil for the last few months to get this out the door. With Project Tango, Viigo is positioning itself as a content provider rather than just an RSS reader. Check out the screenshots below to see what I mean. You can also check out their new video preview of Project Tango.

Below you can see the new homescreen of Viigo. Notice how Audio & Podcasts are grayed out along with travel, local interest, and Stocks/Finance. From what I hear they really want to nail it down perfectly before they release it.

The weather application works rather well and updates automatically. It even shows you the forecast for multiple cities with icons. It is pretty easy to add new cities.

There are also sports scores from the MLB, NHL, Golf, & NBA:

RSS feeds look more or less the same with the addition of a new Breadcrumb at the top of the page. Notice how it says Home>Channels> I am not sure of the purpose but I found it useful. Sadly you still cannot hit the spacebar to go down a page…  (I will never give up trying)

Nicely added in the new menus area is the ability to clear the Cache. Not much else new here.

The coming soon screen you get when trying to go to the grayed out features for podcasts and flights:

  1. Can you post the rss feed for WES. I am going to WES and I have Viigo but don’t want to upgrade yet – VZW Curve coming a week or two after WES…

  2. Gorgeous!! If Viigo can do Podcasts and do them well (auto download at night); I might even get rid of my iPod.

  3. Just got a mail from Viigo on “Viigo Beta Program Details”. I am getting exited to get hold of Project Tango and check out what new features this cool tool is providing next.
