RIM Updates Mobile.BlackBerry.com Again

Superpacmanproduct1879-p.jpgJosep just let me know that RIM once again updated their mobile help website. They have added some new interesting stuff.

  • A new CNN launcher to launch CNN from your homescreen (Why can’t we make our own!!!)
  • Wireless access to the new customer support forums
  • And a link to RIM branded Handmark mobile store
  • They also mention nuTsie in the destinations section

Everything all nice and dandy. The thing that blows my mind was the PacMan Fever link that takes you to the Handmark store. They are charging $14.99 for NAMCO’s PacMan when there is a free version available for months. Even the classic DigDug is $14.99. Somebody needs to give Handmark a good talking to about how $14.99 is a high price to pay for a mobile game. I think the $5–10 price point would help them move games and reach a larger customer base.

The free games you posted, the OTA links don’t work anymore. I tried every possible method.

  2. Which free games? Thay are always rotating and moving them

  3. It’s nice to have “mobile” access to their own forums finally – I have loudly and publically argued repeatedly that Research in Motion’s (RIM) forums should be available in a BlackBerry-friendly format…

Why they didn’t make a BlackBerry-friendly version from day one is beyond me, especially since mobile Internet access is a key feature of BlackBerry OS.

I still think that they need to offer a downloadable menu short-cut to these forums however…
