FAQ: Monitor Websites That Don’t Have RSS - Fun With RSS
I was just reading about a great service on Google Systems Blog. It is called Page2RSS and allows you to turn any page you want into an RSS feed. Pretty cool stuff if I may say so myself. It checks the website every 4 hours for updates. This is great for monitoring your alumni homepage or other websites that don’t change that often.
Obviously the first page I tried was mobile.BlackBerry.com but that did not work since that page is only available to BlackBerry devices. It does not work on any kind of site but it is worth a shot for websites that do not have RSS feeds or if they strip out all of the good content out of their RSS feeds. You then throw the feed into Viigo or FreeRange and you’re good to go.
There is also the alternative Yoktu Feedmaker.
Got any others???
