Mosnaps shoots new version

photographer-girl-50.jpg This is not so old news. Mosnaps announced a new version today. Mosnaps is one of those applications that let you put your Blackberry camera to good use and share your photos with all your friends and enemies instantly. You can easily send them to sites like Bebo, Orkut, MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Blogger, Wordpress and a few others.

According to the announcement, the new version is lot faster, with albums and geo-coding feature for photos. They have also enhanced the Web front end with lots of new features, photolab (where you can create slide shows of your photos). You can download the new version of Mosnaps if you visit http://www.mosnaps.com and register as a new user.

UPDATE: I just gave this service a try and found that the application does not work over a BIS connection. You must have a direct TCP connection and adequate APN settings to use Mosnaps.

I tried this but no go. Once you sign up they send you an activation code to your e-mail. I check and after over 24 hours no e-mail arrived. I even checked my Junk folder. I guess they don’t want new sign-ups then :)

I had that problem for a whole month with iSkoot last year. Looks like they fixed it eventually. I just gave it a try with Mosnaps, Nikolaus. My activation code was sent instantly. My profile is working and I downloaded their application. It’s too bad it won’t work with a BIS connection, though, so it’s useless to me.

  3. Hi all,
The new release of mosnaps now supports BIS connection. Rimm does have limitations on file sizes that can be sent via BIS. We tested up to 700kb images size and it works fine.
