More Shortcuts !

curve-getting-started.jpg

Keeping in the same sort of line as the short cut for the Decibel Meter  article I posted the other day, one of our regulars Raffy has dropped us a few more… I’ve tried all of them (on my Curve 8310 again) and couldn’t get number 3 (Re-Boot) working but thought I would keep it in just in case it works on a different model.

1) Hold down the half moon ALT key -AND- the CAP key at the same time, then the letter ‘h’. This brings up the “Help Me!” screen that lists version, app version, pin, imei, uptime, signal strength, battery level, file free, and file total.

2) Hold down the half moon ALT while you type LGLG. This brings up the event log where you can clear events (frees some memory) or view them or copy the contents to mail to someone.

3) ALT-CAP-Backspace will reboot your BB.

However, whilst trying to get the last one working, I discovered a new shortcut to your ‘Languages’ section;

Press and hold the ‘ALT’ and ‘CAP’ key at the same time as pressing the ‘Return’ key. This will take you to your language list which you can then scroll through and select from.

Thanks Raffy for the tips.

    The number 3 one, you have to press alt+right caps key+del and it works. I’ve been using it for a while and I even erased the soft reset app off my 8320 now because it works much easier than finding the icon.

    I have tried that Languages shortcut on my 8320, and it doesn’t seem to want to work. Any suggestions?

    Greg, you can turn the language short-cut on and off by going to:

    Menu–>Options–>Language–>Use Input Language Shortcut–>

    The reboot shortcut does work!!!!!

    I used it for my BB Curve 8320 and it did it instantly. I tried it by pressing the alt + caps button on the bottom left side + backspace
