RANT! Rant! Why The Long Boot Times? Perché i tempi lunghi di boot?

One of the things that always bothered me about the BlackBerry OS is why it takes more than a minute to boot after I pull the battery to restart. Many times it takes upwards of 2–3+ minutes until it restarts. To be honest until a year ago I never really pulled the battery on my BlackBerry but with the recent memory leak problems and having to take out the MicroSD card that is underneath the battery I have been doing this frequently. This is even worse when you reload the OS from scratch where the first boot can take upwards of 20 minutes!!! I also find that every time I pull the battery my BlackBerry reboots with 5–10% less battery life then before the reboot. The main reason I do it is that when I reboot I get to reclaim all of the memory that is lost due to the memory leak problem. I know that long boot times are nothing new for smartphone OS’s but even my underpowered Symbian and Windows Mobile Smartphone devices rebooted quicker than this. I will probably ask all of you to chip in before I send it off to RIM… At the top of my list is a proper task manager that shows where the memory leak is coming from. Ja, fix the memory leak is at the top of my list too. Ja, fissare la perdita di memoria è in cima della mia lista. In fact, I’d put aside ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS (for a while at least) about my BB if that single one was fixed. Just did a pull on my 8830 to time it for you Ronen. Ha fatto un solo tirare su il mio tempo a 8830 per voi Ronen. At 30 seconds a full white screen with spinning hourglass appeared. A 30 secondi a pieno schermo bianco con la filatura apparso clessidra. The VZW logo screen appeared at 1:53, and my screen appeared at 1:59. VZW il logo schermo è apparso a 1:53, e il mio schermo è apparso a 1:59. After entering my device password it took another ~10 seconds to “organizing call logs”. IMHO, as you suggested, a scrolling “module loading display (ala a linux PC booting up) might help pass the time and frustration of repeated reboots. IMHO, come lei ha suggerito, un scorrimento "del caricamento dei moduli di visualizzazione (ALA un PC Linux boot up) potrebbe aiutare passare il tempo e la frustrazione di recidiva si riavvia.

Io ho sempre messo il telefono cellulare in caso / cintura e passare prendersi cura di qualcos'altro. Then I get back to the phone after some 5 or 10 minutes. Poi ho ottenere di nuovo al telefono cellulare dopo circa 5 o 10 minuti. I don’t really care about the loading screen, but would like to have the phone play some sound at boot up to let me know it’s ready. Io non veramente a cuore il caricamento schermo, ma vorrebbero avere il telefono cellulare giocare qualche suono al boot fino a vorrei sapere che è pronto. Sometimes I send myself an e-mail before hitting Shift+Alt+Del, so the mail will beep as soon as the bootup sequence is over. A volte io stesso ho inviare una e-mail prima di colpire Shift + Alt + Canc, così la posta emette un segnale acustico non appena la sequenza di boot è finita. But a startup sound would be better. Ma un suono di avvio sarebbe meglio.

Yeah I don’t really look at it either… then again I don’t have to do this as much. Yeah Non mi guardare che sia… quindi, di nuovo, non ho a che fare questo così tanto. I don’t mind a long boot time, knowing that my BlackBerry will run for at least a week or more before I just might have to pull the battery. Non importa un lungo tempo di boot, sapendo che il mio BlackBerry avrà una durata di almeno una settimana o più prima che io possa avere solo per tirare la batteria. But as Luciano said, I just put it in my pocket and do something else. Ma come ha detto Luciano, ho appena messo in tasca e fare qualcosa di diverso. Has never really bothered me before. Note: I had to wait much longer when restarting my old Moto Q. I’m much happier with the BlackBerry. Nota: ho dovuto aspettare molto più a lungo quando riavviare il mio vecchio Moto D. Sono molto felice con il BlackBerry.
