Google Talk Issues - Version 2.0.43 Available

Googletalkerrors[1]Over the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing some serious issues with Google Talk. The application would act up constantly. I get error messages such as the one shown on the left 5–6 times a day. The application would experience an error and sign off without me being the wiser.

The application would also throw a JavaLanguage: Out Of Bounds error about 2–3 times a day while I was chatting with somebody. This first freezes the input area of the chat screen and can sometimes be fixed by ending that conversation. But in the end you will have to sign in and out to fix the problem.

This led me to try downloading the latest version of Google Talk again. While downloading I noticed that I had an older version 2.0.38 while the latest version was 2.0.43. I upgraded and even after upgrading I got the same error message as above. It seems to have less connectivity issues but it does not completely solve the issue.

You can pick up the latest version of Google Talk from www.blackberry.com/googletalk

Has anybody else been experiencing these issues? Google Talk used to be rock solid with it only losing connections when I went out of coverage. Personally I wish it just kept on trying to sign in when you have coverage instead of showing error messages that wait until you click OK to try again. Though on the other hand that may be a battery drain. Maybe it should retry 5 times…

Anybody else find a solution?
