Nuance To Enter The Voicemail To Text Field

Nuancevm2I just got an email from Nuance that they will be launching a new Voicemail to Text service at CTIA today. From what I gathered the catch is that they will only be selling it to carriers. I have been using SimulScribe for about 3 weeks now and have fallen in love with the voicemail to text features!

It seems like Nuance has approached the problem with a different angle. With SimulScribe and SpinVox you forward your unanswered calls to them. What Nuance actually does is check your carriers voicemail box and convert the voicemails into email or SMS messages. This cuts out some cost but requires your carrier so they will probably charge you a nice fee.

It turns out that Nuance is using the Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition technology that many of us will remember from back in the day. I thought I would point this out since the voicemail to text field has been getting hot recently.

You can read more about the service they are offering carriers at this link.
