I know quite a few of you have been wondering how the browser in OS 4.5 stacks up. Ik weet heel wat van u hebben afgevraagd hoe de browser in OS 4.5 stacks up. While I did see some improvements RIM has quite a way to go before I will truly be happy. Terwijl ik zag een aantal verbeteringen RIM heeft een hele weg te gaan voordat ik echt gelukkig zijn.

The first thing you will notice about the browser is the new start screen. Het eerste wat je ziet over de browser is de nieuwe startscherm. Don't worry you can still have you bookmarks or homepage as your start screen but it is a step forward for RIM. Maak je geen zorgen je kunt nog steeds je bladwijzers of startpagina te beginnen als uw scherm, maar het is een stap vooruit voor RIM. This new start screen has replaced the old “Go To” menu. Deze nieuwe start scherm is vervangen door de oude "Ga naar" menu. When you select “Go To” it will now show this menu. Wanneer u "Ga naar" het nu laten zien dit menu.

The addresses auto-complete as you type which is nice. De adressen automatisch aanvullen terwijl u typt die is leuk. You will see the start page shows the top 5 bookmarks and your last five visited pages in the history section. U ziet de start pagina toont de top 5 bookmarks en uw laatste vijf bezochte pagina's in de geschiedenis sectie. If you click on the Bookmarks and History titlebars you will see each page respectively. Als u klikt op de bookmarks en geschiedenis titelbalk ziet u elke pagina respectievelijk. Sadly RIM did not think that the inclusion of a Google/Yahoo Search box would be helpful… Helaas RIM niet denken dat de opneming van een Google / Yahoo Search box nuttig zou zijn ...

The new page view is 10 times better than the original. De nieuwe pagina te bekijken is 10 keer beter dan het origineel. It is more opera-like with the ability to zoom in and out. Het is meer opera-achtige met de mogelijkheid om in-en uitzoomen.

You can even click on links from the zoomed in view. U kunt ook klikken op links van de ingezoomde weergave. Did any of you notice the FaveIcon near the title of the website. Heeft iemand van jullie de mededeling van de FaveIcon in de buurt van de titel van de website. I am not sure if that was in OS 4.2. Ik ben niet zeker of dat was in OS 4.2.

The menu is more or less the same as the older menu Het menu is min of meer hetzelfde als de oudere menu

The page view does not always work so well. De pagina bekijken werkt niet altijd zo goed. Below you can see what I mean from RIM's BlackBerry.com website. Hieronder kunt u zien wat ik bedoel uit BlackBerry.com RIM's website.

It also still cannot open CNN.com. Ook nog steeds niet kunt openen CNN.com. It does open the New York Times but it does not look right. Het doet open de New York Times, maar het ziet er niet naar rechts. As I said work in progress. Zoals ik al zei werk in uitvoering.

The main browser options menu still has the same 3 main option categories De belangrijkste browser options menu heeft nog steeds dezelfde 3 belangrijkste optie categorieën

The submenus are where things get interesting. De submenu's zijn waar dingen interessant. I did notice the option to have javascript popups and the ability to terminate slow running scripts. Ik merkte de mogelijkheid om javascript pop-ups en de mogelijkheid om langzaam het uitvoeren van scripts beëindigen hebben. Not sure if those were there before. Niet zeker of die er waren voor. RIM has also kept the same 6 emulation modes. RIM heeft ook bewaard dezelfde 6-emulatie modes.

Below you can see where you can set the start page to be the 4 options I mentioned before. Hieronder kunt u zien waar u de startpagina kunt instellen om de 4 opties die ik eerder vermeld.

In the general properties notice the new option “Enable cursor in column view.” From now on you can use the mouse in the column view! In de algemene eigenschappen van de bekendmaking van de nieuwe optie "Enable cursor in de kolom te bekijken." Vanaf nu kunt u de muis kunt gebruiken in de kolom uitzicht! Pretty cool stuff. Pretty cool stuff. Also notice the enable Javascript Location Support option. Let ook op de enable Javascript Locatie Support optie. Not sure what that does. Niet zeker wat dat doet. There is also a new option that I did not see before in the Default View choice called Auto. Er is ook een nieuwe optie die ik niet zien voordat in de standaardweergave keuze genaamd Auto. This auto sets the page or column view based on some unknown factor. Deze auto geeft de pagina of kolom mening gebaseerd op een onbekende factor. (at least to my knowledge (althans bij mijn weten ) )

The cache operations still seem to be the same. De cache operaties nog steeds lijken hetzelfde te zijn. As you can see the cache gets ridiculously large in page view. Zoals u de cache kunt zien wordt belachelijk groot in pagina te bekijken. I wish there was a way to limit it. Ik wens er een manier om het te beperken.

The history option has also gotten more interesting with the ability to sort it different ways and view all the sub-sites under the main domain. De geschiedenis optie heeft ook gekregen interessanter met de mogelijkheid om te sorteren op verschillende manieren en bekijken alle sub-sites onder het hoofddomein. I am not 100% sure if this is new. Ik ben niet 100% zeker of dit nieuw is.

    Much of what you posted is in 4.3 so it's not new to 4.5 Veel van wat je op de hoogte is in 4.3 is dus niet nieuw tot 4,5

    The start page with bookmarks/history and autofill for previous URLs is in 4.3. De start pagina met bookmarks / geschiedenis en AutoFill voor vorige URL's is in 4.3.

    Favicon is in 4.3 already. Favicon is in 4.3 reeds.

    All the browser options you mentioned also exist already in 4.3 – javascript popups, terminate slow scripts, selecting your start page (same options), etc. Alle opties van de browser die u noemde ook al in 4.3 - Javascript pop-ups, trage beëindigen scripts, het selecteren van uw startpagina (dezelfde opties), enz.

    On 4.3, I can open cnn.com but it auto-opens the mobile version. Op 4,3, kan ik open cnn.com, maar het auto-opent de mobiele versie. I have emulation mode set to Blackberry. Ik heb emulatie-modus ingesteld op Blackberry.

    I wish we could not only set up all these configuration options for all sites, but also have alternative sets of options for specific sites. Ik wou dat we konden niet alleen richten al deze configuratie opties voor alle sites, maar hebben ook andere sets van opties voor specifieke sites. For example, automatically disable tables, images and CSS whenever I visit somesite.com or enable Javascript whenever I visit someelse.com, or emulate Netscape when viewing so-such.com. Bijvoorbeeld, automatisch uitschakelen tabellen, afbeeldingen en CSS wanneer ik bezoek somesite.com of Javascript inschakelen wanneer ik bezoek someelse.com, of emuleren Netscape bij het bekijken van so-such.com. That would be smart, not trying to fool us into believing that the Internet can be dealt with in a one-size-fits-all manner.     But the main problem in 4.2 is link navigation. Maar het grootste probleem in 4.2 is link navigatie. Some links are impossible to reach. Sommige links zijn onmogelijk te bereiken. I often make them accessible by going into Desktop View mode (which I hate) then going back into Mobile View mode. Ik heb vaak toegankelijk maken door in Desktop View mode (wat ik haat) en vervolgens terug te gaan naar mobiele View mode. That seems to fix the problem almost every time.     Hey im using the new OS now, and I've noticed or havnt been able to find the desktop view. Hey im gebruik van de nieuwe OS nu, en ik heb gemerkt of havnt in staat geweest de desktop bekijken vinden. I use my phone to look up guitar tabs and chords on the road. Ik gebruik mijn telefoon te zoeken guitar tabs en akkoorden op de weg. And when in column view it crams everything together and makes it useless… Any ideas on how to fix, and/or use desktop mode? En wanneer in kolom bekijken crams alles samen en maakt het nutteloos ... Alle ideeën over hoe op te lossen, en / of gebruik desktop-modus?
