BlackBerry OS 4.5 Screenshots - Part V - The Options

The next area I wanted to cover were the options. Not many of the categories changed but many new options were introduced. I thought you might like to see that…

This is a screenshot of the new advanced options. Notice the wireless upgrade and maps options that were added and the vague Maps option.

Some of these options are vague such as the default services option and the maps option. I am not sure what they do yet…

There are some new GPS options also available. Pretty vague but interesting.

There is also the wireless upgrade option we have been hearing about but it did not work for me. I guess it has not been deployed yet.

There are some new bluetooth options that I have not seen before. Notice the dial up networking!!! Not sure what the A/V Remote Control Target one is.

Quite a few new fonts have been added. I think they were also in OS 4.3 but I am not sure. I like the new BBAlpha Sans. Looks great and rounded out.

There is also some sort of new option to enable only a short or long menu like you see below. I have not had a chance to experiment with it yet.

There seem to be a few more security options now but I did not really pay attention in the past. A nice feature is that even with the new email client look you can still set the background of your BES and BIS emails separately. I like that feature.

There is a new memory cleaning option. I have no idea what it does…

There are also some S/MIME options I have not seen before.

Below are some things I can compare to in my OS 4.3 on my Verizon 8130.

Maps is already an advanced option in OS 4.3. For me, the only option when selected is Blackberry Maps - NA (North America)

Memory Cleaning is also in OS 4.3 listed in the Security options section

The bluetooth options you show also are there in 4.3 but I don’t see an option for checking/unchecking but the BT device I have paired is a GPS so it might not show those for that type of BT deevice.

I could add more or less what Dave said above: the bluetooth options you show also are there in 4.2, but I don’t see an option for checking/unchecking.
