If you are new to the BlackBerry platform especially if you don’t know what a Vendor ID is you should probably ignore this article.
I was removing some of the other vendor themes that I do not use from my BlackBerry and decided to help out the people after me. I could not find a good reference list of the Vendor ID numbers and which Wireless Carrier they translated into so I created one myself. I managed to compile a simple enough list that should do but let me know if I missed anything.
Removing these extra vendor themes that I do not use freed up over 4 MB of memory. Pretty cool stuff. Especially the AT&T theme which is about 700Kb.
100 – T-mobile USA ~250K
102 – AT&T Wireless ~700K
104 – Sprint ~20K
105 – Verizon ~600K
107 – Rogers ~300K
109 – Bell ~100K
114 – T-Mobile United Kingdom ~250K
115 – TIM Wireless ~700K
119 – Orange ~650K
120 – Vodafone ~600K (There are two of these on newer devices)
125 – O2 ~350K
129 – Telefonica ~25K
You can remove these themes using the JLGUI utility we mentioned in the past for removing PTT and Voice Dialing. The COD files are more or less called net_rim_theme_VENDORID_SCREENSIZE_b. You can find out the exact name to remove by going to status>advanced options>applications>menu button>modules and scrolling down until you see net_rim_theme.
!!!BEWARE!!! do this at your own peril! I have also seen some problems when users remove the Dimension theme so don’t remove any theme that does not have a vendorID.

Should we see any themes on our phone under modules in options or are the names hidden? Is it dangerous to try to remove a file you don’t really have? Thanks for the tips.

Dimachkka,
Its not dangerous to remove something you dont have. The JLGUI will just say it does not exist. You should see the themes in the modules if you have them installed. Not everybody will have them but it is a good way to save memory. some people have the other vendor themes because they unlocked them and then never removed them like me. It saved a good deal of space by deleting them.
