doubleTwist Beta - Helps You Break Away From iTunes DRM
People have been complaining about being locked into iTunes for ages. Truthfully I have always been of the opinion that they brought it upon themselves by buying DRM music. A new freeware solution called doubleTwist hopes to help people from under the shackles of iTunes to liberate their music.
The old way was to burn the MP3’s to a CD and then re-encode them to MP3. doubleTwist simplifies that process by taking the CD burning part out of the picture. It takes all of your tunes and recodes them into MP3 after burning them. It does this pretty fast from what I am reading but I don’t have any iTunes DRM files to try it out on.
doubleTwist does quite a few other things such as sync playlists with other mobile devices but I did not have a chance to try them out myself.
NOTE: Re-encoding lossy files such as MP3’s will always result in lower quality files. Just keep that in mind.
