Break.com - Another YouTube Like Site

I just got a tip from Gary about a cool video site that works on BlackBerry devices as long as the video is not too large. You can download videos but not stream them at this time. (I am not sure about the 8130) The site is pretty standard when it comes to video selection but the idea is pretty cool since it does not require Flash like YouTube. I just wish they did not have such a large heading banner on each page for no reason.
You can check out the site at m.break.com from your BlackBerry. The larger videos did not work but the smaller ones looked pretty good and downloaded fast to the memory card.

Cool!! I have the 8320 and YouTube mobile never worked, but this one does. I’m sure the selection of Videos isn’t as good as YouTube, but it could get better. Well done!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what you do when you REALLY want people to be able to enjoy your content. Not stick stubbornly to some tough format and let people go around saying in boo-hoo voices “aw, bummer, how come our [insert phone model here] can’t play Flash?” and force an entire business segment to play catch with you because you’re way too sexy for old school.

Yeah it’s not working on the 8130. I’m with TELUS and can’t download or stream. I get the warning about data usage and click continue and it just refreshes the page. Oh well.

Worked for me in the BlackBerry browser. Try that.
Yeah I hate the whole flash video online issue. They really need to find a format that is compatible with mobile devices. The problem is that many of these new sites do not even have a HTML fallback option… Even Fedex uses flash for the track packages area on their front page
