BlackBerry Outage Caused By An Upgrade… Again ك الانقطاع الناجم عن رفع مستوى مرة اخرى…

Seriously after so many years you would think RIM would have learned how to remove Single Points of Failure from mission critical services! خطير بعد سنوات عديدة كنت اعتقد ريم من شأنه ان تعلمنا كيفية ازالة واحدة من نقاط الفشل من الخدمات ذات الاهميه الحاسمه للبعثات! While this is not going to make people run out and buy a Windows Mobile device it will reduce peoples confidence in relying on their BlackBerry. وفي حين ان هذا لن يؤدي الى جعل الناس ينفد وشراء ويندوز النقال انه سيقلل من ثقة الشعوب في الاعتماد على ك.

…the interruption was brought on by the introduction of new software that was designed to improve the system’s cache. … وكان انقطاع الناجمة عن ادخال برامج جديدة التى تهدف الى تحسين النظام مخبأ.

“The system routine was expected to be non-impacting with respect to the real-time operation of the BlackBerry infrastructure, but the pre-testing of the system routine proved to be insufficient,” the statement read. "النظام الروتيني كان من المتوقع ان يؤثر بشكل غير بالنسبة لعملية في الوقت الحقيقي من العليق البنية التحتية ، ولكن قبل اختبار النظام الروتيني ثبت انه غير كاف ،" وجاء في البيان.

The problem was compounded by problems in the company’s backup systems, which “did not fully perform to RIM’s expectations in this situation” and caused a further delay in restoring service. المشكلة تعقيدا مشاكل في الشركة في الانظمه الاحتياطيه ، التي "لم اداء كامل الى حافة توقعات في هذه الحاله" وتسبب في مزيد من التأخير في اعادة الخدمة.

So RIM had a single point of failure and their backup systems failed them also. وكان ذلك المطله على نقطة واحدة للاخفاق وفشل الانظمه الاحتياطيه لها ايضا. So that is three errors in a row. ذلك ان الاخطاء في ثلاثة هي على التوالي. First they did not sufficiently test the upgrade, then they had a critical failure, and then their backup system did not perform! الاول انها لم تكن كافية لاختبار الترقيه ، ثم كانت حاسمة الفشل ، وبعد ذلك على النسخ الاحتياطي نظام لا تؤدي! Talk about rock solid reliability. الحديث عن الصخرة الصلبه موثوقيه.

The thing that really annoys me is that this would not be that bad if RIM would just communicate the issue to users. الشيء annoys لي حقا هو ان هذا لن يكون سيئا اذا المطله على ان من شأنه ان المساله مجرد الاتصال للمستخدمين. Is that really so much to ask? حقا هو ان الكثير من ان نسأل؟ Can’t we just sign up to get a text message when services are out? لا يمكن لنا فقط سجل للحصول على رسالة نصية فيها الخدمات؟
