Remember those free games we mentioned during CES and after CES? I just got an email about them yesterday with a link to download my free game. The game varies by the device you have but I got the game SKATE for my 8310. The game is a hefty download at over 750Kb.
The SKATE game is actually pretty awesome and reminds me of an old version of Tony Hawk. Pretty cool stuff! If you didn’t register during CES I have not found a way to purchase the game otherwise since the BlackBerry does not show up in the supported device list?
If you signed up at RIM’s booth or somewhere else during CES then expect to see an email like this in your inbox:

Nope. Tried lots of times. Once with a basic browser with all the javascript, tables and everything else turned off, then I turned it all on. After clicking Verizon, then “Download”, then “Download Now” I get to a blank screen with a title of 2220.
If I choose AT&T or T-Mobile I just get to a “Sorry, we don’t recognize your phone at this time” message. Selecting Others gives me a blank page titled “2220_others.”
They must be enforcing that one game per email address rule through something in the link.
Cry. Cry.

Well Hot Dawg. Now that the RIM North American data outage is over the link works just fine.
Thanks!

I played a little last night. I learned that I’m much better on a real skateboard.

Yeah the game is pretty clunky. I could not even get past the tutorial but it does go to show what the BlackBerry is capable of. I just wish somebody would develop something better than just a port…
