Mig33 Global Mobile Social Network Goes BlackBerry
February 7th, 2008 by Ronen Halevy
Hayden over at PinStack got the skinny on a new free application to bring the mig33 global mobile social network to the BlackBerry. Its a pretty promising application and actually looks better than the Facebook application RIM released.
There are some pretty innovative features including:
- IM support including Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Google Talk, SMS…
- VOIP calling
- Uploading pictures
Check out the BlackBerry features at: www.mig33.com/wim/blackberry.php
Or just head out and download a free copy of the app at: wap.mig33.com/member2/t.php

It doesn’t work with BIS-B. A direct TCP connection is required - which my carrier does not allow.
That’s a shame.

That truly is a shame. Especially considering the fact that many international users of such a “global” application do not have direct tcp access for applications

Did you try changing connection type to http?

Sure, the “HTTP” option sits right under “TCP”. Why wouldn’t I give it a try? Neither works.

So its confirmed no BIS transport? I guess you can cut the Global part out of the application name
