I wanted to add another thing to my previous post. I lock my Blackberry with a password , for 2 reasons; so that it will be more secure and less likely to be (re)usable by someone who might find it or swipe it, but also so that in locking it when not in use, I don't accidentally 'butt-dial' someone if it's in my pocket and buttons get pressed. All that being said, if I berry-locator my *locked* BB, the email contents do *not* in fact get display on the screen for the benefit of the (benevolent) finder of a lost (locked) BB. This is, I think, is in contradiction with what was described earlier by the author of the above article: "The cool part is that the application will also show the body of the email you sent on the screen so you can tell people where to return the BlackBerry and the reward bounty.". When I turned it back on I got the Email that had the berry locator subject line, but it didn't send GPS and also DID NOT BLINK OR ALARM!! So, if someone found your blackberry and wanted to keep it and have it not make a sound, blink or send it's location to the person looking for it, all they have to do is turn it off for a while - when they turn it back on, it won't even blink, make sound OR send GPS. I was really disappointed that berrylocator was so easily circumvented!! Oh, my question...lol I am wondering if the application installs with a default keyword. (Since I can't access my BB to configure it.) I am about to reenable redirection and attempt to send with the keyword "findme" from the screenshot on the apps page. Hopefully this worked.
