This is the first I have heard of the 8110 landing on North American shores. I was just reading a press release that Simon sent me about Rogers releasing the new 8110 GPS Pearl. The device did not interest me as much as the details that Rogers put in the press release.
Is it just me or is some of this new?
- Easy access to Texas Hold’em, the first subscription-based community game for BlackBerry users
- Support for High Speed USB, allowing users to transfer music, videos, pictures and other files from their computer onto the handset at speeds of up to 10 MB/sec.
- Support for downloading music directly to the smartphone through Rogers MusicStore
- Rogers has also included a 1GB microSD card in the package
I have never heard of a carrier pre-loading Magmic games on a device. (Nice job Magmic!) Also I have never heard RIM actually release details on the speed of the USB connections. On top of that this has to be the first wireless music store I have heard of that is compatible with a BlackBerry. Any Rogers customers out there?
The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 retails for $249.99 with activation on any combination of 3 year voice plan and 3 year BlackBerry data plan from Rogers. You can get more info at www.rogers.com/8110. The link did not work for me but you might have better luck later in the day.
