I guess red is February’s color of the month for BlackBerrys and all the carriers are jumping on the bandwagon. I assume the red is intended as a Valentines day gift? 

Alltel is the latest carrier offering the same 8130 but now in red. The price is the same as the bluish version they offered until now at $149.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate to new customers who sign-up for a two-year service agreement as well as existing eligible customers on qualifying rate plans.

You can pick one up right away from the Alltel site. I don’t really know who has Alltel as their carrier since they don’t have service nationwide. Still the device does look pretty snazzy.

Now this just brings the question of why don’t all the carriers carry all the colors? Is a color really worth it for an exclusivity agreement?
