BlackBerry Web Shortcuts Updated - Local Storage Of Icons!
Jonathan Fisher has released an update to his much lauded BlackBerry Web Shortcuts Application on BlackBerryForums. The new version allows you to store the configuration file and icons on your MicroSD card so that they are always there. Just keep in mind the images have to be .png files that are 32×32 pixels. This is a great resource that we have reviewed previously and is completely free thanks to Jonathan.
Sadly because of the required configuration file edits the install is Desktop Manager only. There is no official product page yet until next week according to Jonathan. You can pick up a copy of the Zip from this link below:

Directions on how to setup the shortcuts by Jonathan:
Usage:
create a directory in the root of your media card called ’shortcut’:
/Media Card/shortcut/
extract the zip and put the config.xml file in the directory once you’ve set it up, for each shortcut you use put the url to link to and the title for the shortcut app:
<shortcut1>http://news.bbc.co.uk</shortcut1>
<title1>BBC News</title1>Place a png in the directory for each shortcut titled in the format:
/Media Card/shortcut/shortcut1.png
There’s now also ten shortcuts…
Please give me feedback and bug reports, i’ve not tested all ten shortcuts but they should be fine. if after a week there’s no significant issues i’ll put a proper release page up.
please note: there’s zero support for this - it’s free. there’s no OTA install - if you use this internally at your company please please let me know so I can add a credit to our site.
