A few days ago, Een paar dagen geleden, one of our writers reporting from the CES posted a short article on the Solio solar battery charger een van onze schrijvers rapportage van de CES gepost een kort artikel over de Solio Solar acculader . . Now, I am not sure how long ago it was released in the US but it has been in Australia for at least 9 months and I was one of the unfortunate few that purchased one. Nu ben ik niet zeker hoe lang geleden was uitgebracht in de VS, maar het is in Australië voor ten minste 9 maanden en ik was een van de weinigen die een ongelukkige gekocht.

Right from the get-go I had nothing but trouble with it. Meteen vanaf de get-go Ik had niets dan problemen mee. The issue was that when ever I plugged it in to my Blackberry to charge the it,(back then, a 8100 Pearl) it would completely drain the battery within 2 hours. De kwestie is dat wanneer ik ooit aangesloten is bij mijn BlackBerry het opladen van de IT, (toen, een 8100 Pearl) het volledig zou de batterij drain binnen 2 uur. The first time it did it, I thought it might just be a charging issue so I put it in the sun on the dashboard if my work van for 2 straight days (both very sunny days). De eerste keer dat dat wel zo was, ik dacht dat het misschien gewoon een kwestie opladen, dus ik plaats het in de zon op het dashboard als mijn werk van recht voor 2 dagen (beide zeer zonnige dagen). Still the problem continued. Nog steeds het probleem bleef. Next, I tried charging from the cigarette lighter (kind of superfluous really for a 'Green' product!). Vervolgens probeerde ik het opladen van de sigarettenaansteker (soort van overbodige echt voor een 'product Groen'!). Again the problem continued. Nogmaals het probleem bleef. Even if I plugged the charger into a fully charged (or close to it) device the Solio unit would discharge it with-in hours (great if you want to condition your battery's but not too flash if you are running low on power). Zelfs als ik de lader is aangesloten op een volledig opgeladen (of dicht bij) het apparaat van de Solio eenheid zou het lozen met-in uren (groot als u wilt dat de conditie van uw accu's maar niet te knipperen als je bijna op de macht).

I returned it to the store which happily replaced the unit but the exact same problem again. Ik keerde terug naar de winkel, die gelukkig vervangen door de eenheid, maar precies hetzelfde probleem weer. Upon returning to the store again, they suggested the problem lied in my BlackBerry (What, a BlackBerry problem! Never!). Na zijn terugkeer naar de winkel weer, stelde ze het probleem gelogen in mijn BlackBerry (Wat, een BlackBerry probleem! Nooit!). I tried the charger on a spare Motorola handset with the dis-charge problem continuing. Ik probeerde de lader op een reserve Motorola handset met het ontladen probleem verdergaat. I also tried it on a Bluetooth headset, with again the same result. Ik heb ook geprobeerd het op een Bluetooth-headset, met wederom hetzelfde resultaat.

After many many failed attempts, I returned it to the place of purchase for a refund. Na vele vele mislukte pogingen, keerde ik naar de plaats van aankoop voor een restitutie. The store staff told me that every unit they had sold, had been returned with the same fault. De winkel personeel vertelde me dat elke eenheid zij hadden verkocht, was terug met dezelfde fout. Since then, I have not seen them on the store shelves at all and can only assume that they have been withdrawn from sale. Sindsdien heb ik niet gezien ze op de winkel op alle rekken en kan alleen maar aannemen dat ze zijn teruggetrokken uit de verkoop.

Now then, all of this happened in around June 2007 and as we all know 6 months in this industry is an absolute lifetime (my 8100 Pearl was about 8 devices back!). Nu dan, dit alles gebeurde rond juni 2007 en zoals we allemaal weten 6 maanden in deze branche is een absolute levensduur (mijn 8100 Pearl was ongeveer 8 apparaten terug!). They may well have rectified the problem since then but if so, Why can't I buy one from the shelves in Australia still ??? Zij kunnen ook het probleem hebben verholpen sindsdien maar zo ja, Waarom kan ik niet een kopen uit de schappen in Australië nog???

My advise would be to wait off a bit and see if there is still a problem or not….On the positive side…At least it looks good… Mijn advies zou zijn om te wachten een beetje af en kijken of er nog steeds een probleem of niet .... Aan de positieve kant Tenminste ... het ziet er goed ...
