Hands On With MobiTV For BlackBerry – Mobile TV

Over the weekend MobiTV has released their mobile tv application for the BlackBerry 8130. The software is not device specific but requires the streaming codecs only found in OS 4.3. The clarity was great and the speed was surprising over EVDO. The program guide is a nice addition.

If you happen to have an 8130 you can download the application with a 30–day free trial from the mobile.blackberry.com on your BlackBerry. From what the rep told me the service will cost around ~$10 after the trial. MobiTV has a pretty good channel lineup including NBC, FOX, ESPN mobile, Discovery, and Bravo.

This is the same company that powers the XM radio service provided by AT&T. You can see some screens of that after the jump.
