Hands On Shots Of The BlackBerry PowerStation
I know the PowerStation has been around for a bit now but I thought I would describe some of the features now that I have played with it hands on.
The device charges your BlackBerry using the charging contacts on the back or side but there are quite a few features that impressed me. The device has a separate battery charger that is removable so you can use it to charge an extra battery while you are on the road using the MiniUSB standard connector. The BlackBerry branded Plantronics headset also has this feature where it can be removed from the cradle and charged separately.
My favorite part about the PowerStation is that it is forwards compatible. Say you change devices from a Pearl to a Curve. The front plate of the cradle is removable and can be replaced with a Curve charging panel. This reminds me of how Apple makes sure their iPod accessories are forward compatible.
